I'm Working Hard at Resting. Really.

The world has seen a few versions of Kim over the years.
There was career-driven Kim - the one who pushed and hustled until she ended up pretty broken, burnt out, and wondering how she got there. Then came connected Kim, the one who stepped out of the matrix and found her way back to herself through Shamanic and spiritual work - the version that felt, for a while, like coming home. Then mum-again Kim arrived when my little Goddess was born, and I dedicated everything I had to nurturing her alongside my eldest, my absolute legend of a son.
And then there's this version. The most recent one. The one I haven't found a name for yet.
Whatever this journey is, it's making me pretty seasick. I can't quite see solid ground ahead of me yet, so I'm riding the waves, trusting they're carrying me somewhere worth landing. Maybe this is my Moana moment. I'm choosing to believe it is.

Since March, I've been dealing with ongoing illness that has humbled me more than I'd like to admit. I've waved the white flag. I'm working hard (and I mean genuinely hard) at learning how to rest properly. Again.
It feels almost ridiculous, doesn't it? That a grown woman who has done so much inner work, who has felt so connected and so aligned, is back here learning the same lessons. But this is the reminder I keep coming back to: this is the work.
This is how real growth actually shows up...not in the breakthrough moments, but in the slow, unglamorous return to basics. With the universe as my employer, the earth as my office, and my body and soul as my role, I'm committing to my responsibilities, and if I'm honest, I'm putting in a formal request to management for a full month of health and energy before the year is out.
So what does this mean for Wild Thread Collective?
I'm still here, always here - but at an extremely limited capacity, and potentially for the rest of the year. I'll be making as much handcrafted magic as my body will allow, in the in-between bits, in the quiet moments - because creating is one of the things that fills me back up rather than emptying me out. It is my medicine.
For The Holistic Photographer and The Digital Thread, I'm at capacity for August and I have only one remaining energy space for September, with limited availability remaining for October, November and December.
I'm sharing this here first, with my existing clients and the people who've been following this journey, so you have the first opportunity to secure your time with me before I open up more widely.
Let's get deep...

I've been very quiet on social media lately, and honestly, it's hard. I have so much I want to share with you and not enough energy to do it justice. So if you've been here through the silence, thank you. It means more than a quiet scroll can convey.
I very rarely ask for anything from my clients or my followers, but I need to today, so bear with me.
For me to fully lean into this space of rest and restoration, I need to let go of a very real fear of being forgotten. I'm scared of falling off people's radar. I'm scared that all of these ideas and offerings and creations I want to bring into the world will lose their magic simply because someone else got there first. I know, logically, that my magic is mine, but fear isn't always logical, is it.
What I do know is that if I felt a little supported... a quiet knowing that my community has my back... I could lean into this rest more fully, and come back stronger for it. So this is my ask.
If you feel moved to share Wild Thread Collective with someone who might need it or love it - a friend, a follower, a quiet recommendation, that kind of support builds something that lasts long after I'm back to full strength.
If I've created magic with you through a shoot - I never expect you to tag me in every image you post, but every now and again would mean the world. It puts me in front of new audiences and lets people know I'm still here, still working, still very much alive in the background.
If I've created a website for you - if the conversation ever comes up, a gentle recommendation goes such a long way. Most of my website work comes through word of mouth, and that pipeline goes quiet when I do. I don't want to be forgotten in the in-between.
And finally - this is my most vulnerable ask of all.
Check in on me. Not because anything is terribly wrong, but because connection is something I need right now more than I usually let myself admit. I'm a confident person on the surface, but asking for company, for presence, for someone to just show up, that doesn't come easily to me.
If you've ever thought about reaching out and talked yourself out of it, please don't. If you want to be present in this little corner of my world, in whatever way feels natural to you - the door is genuinely open.
I'll be here. Resting, making, finding my way back.
And I'll see you on the other side. 🌿
